Our client is a specialist importer and distributor of products to the rigid and flexible packaging industry, the industrial manufacturing industry and the print and finishing industry.

The Role

With a diverse and large range of products across Printing, Packaging Solutions and Industrial, key to your success as Business Development Manager will be your ability to open doors, research prospects, monitor market trends, both domestic and international, develop expert level knowledge across relevant products, maintain and develop significant key customer and supplier accounts.

Key responsibilities
  • Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow through to a successful agreement
  • Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract clients
  • Collaborate with product, marketing and management
  • Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects within your territory
  • Develop a strong understanding of all product categories, competition in the industry and market positioning
  • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on corporate competition
Experience and person requirements
  • 5 - 10 years relevant sales experience gained within the manufacturing/Industrial/Packaging/Printing industries
  • Previous B2B Business Development/Sales experience
  • The ability to build rapport quickly with people at all levels
  • Solid commercial acumen with the ability to structure profitable deals, contributing new business sales and retention strategies
  • Excellent communication, Influencing, presentation, time management and organisational skills
  • Proven track record of success in a sales/BD environment
  • Specific experience within the Packaging industry is not essential but will be highly regarded
This is an all-encompassing role where you will be able to utilise your existing BDM skill set and experience to generate new opportunities and provide targeted solutions and deliver an overall very strong contribution to the Flexible Packaging division.
