Business Unit Manager (Vendor) OTE $160k

This role has the primary responsibility of maximising profitability of assigned vendor line(s) and business segments or projects. You will drive development and profitability of partnerships with client groups and strategic management of the vendor relationships.

Full training across specific vendors and products will be provided, what you need to demonstrate is a solid commercial understanding of the Vendor Partner relationship and related dynamics together with a strong generalist commercial acumen.

While responsible for revenues derived from vendor targets, this position is a sales enablement role. Your objectives will be achieved through partnering with the sales team, supplier engagement, strategic planning, regular business reviews, marketing programs, forecasting and pipeline management, partner enablement and vendor reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

To achieve your objectives you will work with Business Unit Director, State Sales Managers and Account Managers to analyse/profile the current partner lists related to your vendor/s, and determine ownership of the relationship for partners.
  • Creation of business plans for the vendor/s product group, ensuring input from all key stakeholders
  • Development and implementation of sales enablement programs for the business and partners
  • Implementation of marketing programs to support the vendor/s objectives
  • Creation of joint initiatives with vendor/s and business partners
  • Implementation of business plans that achieve agreed vendor/s revenue targets and generate the planned profit outcomes
  • Ensure that strong business relations with vendor/s partners
  • Maintain knowledge of sales processes, proposals, pipeline management and partner engagement
  • Recruit new partners for your assigned vendor/s by leveraging industry news, events and other business campaigns/activities.
  • Work with Sales Team to develop sales competencies through Vendor product knowledge
  • Ensuring highest and continuously improving levels of vendor/s and partner satisfaction
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, rebate structure, buy-in and deals.
  • Determine parameters for inventory stocking strategy, return of product, forecasting, payment decisions, obsolete inventory management and priority allocation
Key Skills
  • Commercial experience in a distribution environment
  • A good understanding of the channel business in Australia and vendor/partner relationship mechanics
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to self-manage, plan and assist in closing deals
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a sound business acumen
