Our client on this occasion is a well established and long standing, medium sized FMCG wholesale/distribution business, occupying a strong position in their market.
As a successful leader in their sector they are constantly looking for innovative methods of increasing market position. Key to their continued growth is the delivery of meaningful financial operational management, financial reporting, cashflow management, commentary and metrics to management.
They have an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take control and manage their finance function.
Reporting to the CEO this is an extremely broad and hands-on role where you will have overall responsibility for the ongoing day to day finance team management and general finance operations.
Key overall position responsibilities will include:
- Management and financial reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Treasury and cash low management, profitability analysis
- Supplier selection and negotiation
- Financial institutions/Banking relationship management
- Payroll, BAS, GST, FBT and liaison with ATO
- Overseeing cash management, AP, billings and receivables
- Financial systems and related other finance-related tasks
General experience:
- Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory accounting requirements coupled with a broad knowledge of fundamental business principles
- Ability to advise management and directors on business trends and broad business objectives
- Ability to constantly improve reporting and finance systems to increase the effectiveness of reporting
- Knowledge of Employee Awards and Enterprise Bargaining environments would be an advantage
Applicants will be able to demonstrate all above skills developed over 8 years+ (PQE) in a senior finance position coupled with a professional (CA/CPA) accounting qualification. These skills will have been acquired within an Australian based SME corporate environment.
Highly effective communication skills are crucial.
