A privately owned national business within the industrial distribution sector is seeking an experienced Financial Controller / Commercial Manager to join its leadership team.

Reporting to the executive, this role will oversee all finance operations and deliverables together with management and heavy input on commercial finance matters across the business.

This is a hands-on position suited to a commercially minded and level headed finance professional who can guide and deliver on both strategic requirements and operational activities.

The Role

• Leading and developing the finance function
• Production of monthly management accounts, cashflow and balance sheet reporting
• Taking a lead role in day to day commercial operations and decisions
• Oversight of payroll, BAS, payroll tax, FBT and statutory compliance
• Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and more
• Preparation of financial statements with external accountants
• Driving improvements across finance systems, controls and reporting

Who are you and what will you bring?

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within a hands on, private company environment ideally within transportation, logistics, industrial or other aligned environments
• CA/CPA
• Strong credit and cashflow experience
• Strong technical accounting and compliance knowledge
• Confident with commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills
• Solutions-focused approach
