National Account Manger - Major Wholesale Distribution

Sydney | Hybrid Working | Growing FMCG Business

An established and growing FMCG sales and brand management business is seeking a commercially driven National Account Manager to support and grow key wholesale and retail channel partnerships across Australia.

Reporting to the Sales Director, this role offers genuine ownership of customer relationships, commercial outcomes and growth initiatives across a diverse customer based.

The Role
This position will suit an experienced Account Manager ready to step into broader responsibility, or an existing National Account Manager looking for greater autonomy and channel exposure.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and growing national and state-based wholesale and retail accounts
  • Delivering sales and distribution targets
  • Managing trade investment in line with agreed budgets
  • Developing customer business plans aligned to brand and commercial objectives
  • Leading range reviews, pricing submissions and promotional proposals
  • Negotiating and executing promotional programs and activation initiatives
  • Supporting new product launches across key channels
  • Providing regular trading updates and commercial insights
Exposure across major Independent Grocery, Pharmacy, Convenience, Distributor networks or Route-to-Market channels will be highly regarded.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
  • FMCG sales or account management experience
  • Experience working with wholesale, independent or national retail customers
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of trade spend
  • Confidence in customer negotiations and planning cycles
  • A proactive, structured and relationship-driven approach
  • Strong Excel and reporting capability
  • Willingness to travel interstate as required
Candidates stepping up from Senior Territory Manager or State Account Manager backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
