Based in Sydney's CBD, the Technical Network Engineer's role is to work as part of a project orientated team to complete assignments and tasks linked to the technical delivery of solutions across a variety of industries and business sectors, by providing deep technical skills, solution sets and expertise across a wide range of products and technologies.
The role requires working from brand new CBD offices and on customer sites, across Sydney as required.
The key focus of the role is to work with management in scoping, design and/or deliver technical solutions to the client’s specification, and provide hands on support and knowledge transfer for the management of medium and high complexity business IT requirements.
The role has a strong client service orientation and provides service to clients in the delivery of Storage Area Networks, Virtualisation, Data Management, MS Applications, Networking, Security, Backup, Cloud Computing and Data Centre Services.
Competencies for this role will include some or all of the following;
- Highly experienced Engineer able to deliver implementation, management and migration projects across various industries and products.
- Exposure to a wide range of network and storage environments.
- Deploying and managing VMware Sphere utilising vCenter, SRM, update manager, vShield, Data Protection Manager, etc
- WAN administration and implementation.
- Office 365 maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, SD-WAN)
- Management and troubleshooting of Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
- Experienced in managing MS Windows 2003, 2008 and 2012 server, radius/NPS, active directory and exchange (2003, 2007 and o365), DNS, DHCP, MS SQL
- Setup Microsoft Hyper-V and SCCM as proof of concept.
- Management of SQL databases including maintenance plans, backups and disaster recovery scenarios.
- Disaster recovery design implementation, maintenance and testing.
Certifications in CCNA and VCP would be highly regarded but not essential.
